How Childhood Trauma Shows Up in Adult Life
Unresolved childhood trauma doesn’t just disappear — it often resurfaces in subtle but painful ways. You may notice it through:
Constant people-pleasing or fear of disappointing others
Anxiety, burnout, or never feeling “enough”
Struggling to set boundaries without guilt
Repeating toxic or narcissistic relationship patterns
Feeling disconnected from your authentic self
Recognizing these signs is the first step. With therapy, you can begin to understand these patterns and gently heal the roots of your pain — so you can live with confidence, calm, and healthier connections.
Childhood Trauma Therapy Online — Healing That Lasts
Childhood trauma doesn’t just stay in the past — it shapes how you feel, think, and connect today. With trauma-informed therapy, you can finally begin to release survival patterns and step into a calmer, more connected life.

How we heal childhood trauma
Healing childhood trauma isn’t about erasing the past — it’s about transforming the way it lives inside you today. In therapy, we work together to:
Calm your nervous system so you no longer feel constantly on edge or “stuck in survival mode.”
Process and release old wounds that keep showing up as anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, or perfectionism.
Rebuild self-worth so you feel grounded, confident, and connected in your relationships.
My approach integrates trauma-informed counselling, IFS (Internal Family Systems), attachment-focused therapy, and psychodynamic exploration to help you not only cope — but truly heal at the root.
What Life Can Look Like After Healing
Healing childhood trauma takes courage, but the results can be life-changing. My clients often notice meaningful shifts in just a few months, and over time they experience:
-
🌱 Relief from anxiety and emotional burnout — no longer feeling like you’re “always on.”
-
💞 Healthier, more balanced relationships — where you give and receive love without losing yourself.
-
✨ Freedom from toxic cycles — breaking patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, or attracting narcissistic partners.
-
🌟 Rebuilt self-worth and confidence — feeling grounded in who you are, not just what you achieve.
-
🌈 More calm, clarity, and connection — in everyday life, work, and relationships.
This isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about finally feeling safe to be fully yourself.

Meet Your Childhood Trauma Therapist

I’m Divya Gulati, a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCPA) with over 12 years of experience helping high-achieving adults heal the wounds of childhood trauma, attachment injuries, and emotionally immature parenting.
My own journey of navigating and breaking free from toxic relationship patterns has deeply shaped the way I work. I know what it’s like to feel unseen, dismissed, and burdened by old family dynamics — and I also know that healing is possible.
In therapy, I bring a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach that blends Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic insights, and nervous-system regulation. Together, we’ll not only uncover the root causes of anxiety, burnout, and people-pleasing — but also build lasting self-trust, emotional freedom, and healthier relationships.
If you’re ready to stop repeating the past and step into a calmer, more authentic version of yourself, I’d be honored to walk this healing journey with you.
When I am not working, I love to paint, do yoga, enjoy being in nature, spend time with family and friends, and travelling.
